that those returns will very likely be FAR less than they expected, then they won't get them until, well, until Vlad says that AgentOrange can stop the shutdown.

with dreams of their 4-5 grand in their head.

My youngest sister always got more than 4 grand and my hubby and I with our young 3 never got that much. Hell we don't get that much now.

I have always contended that she and her hubby gamed the system while we played by the rules.

added to their withholding to get such a return. If they have businesses expenses, maybe that has given them more of a return.

out your tax return. If you are smart, and don’t want to give tRump an interest-free loan for a year, you have the correct amount withheld and then owe a little or get a little back at tax time. Its extremely unlikely that your sister and her spouse “games” the system. It’s a difficult system to game.Unless, of course, they’re real estate developers.

I am sure they claimed more than what they should have been able to

Meanwhile, our family had a little more money taken out to make sure we never owed. We never claimed the head of household. We didn't qualify (to be honest my sister never did either)

That is the kind of stuff I was thinking of.

If you own a business, it’s easier than if all your income come with a W-2, but she’d have to falsify expenditures and/or income, which is a pretty serious thing to do, and easily checked in a franchise situation.

Who live paycheck to paycheck and struggle with two jobs just to get by and for seniors/disabled who need food stamps and other assistance to survive this could be a disaester.

They don’t really care if the other guy doesn’t get his money, but this when it gets personal.

My SIL said that none of this affects his life so he really doesn’t care, but I know he counts on that money, being a farmer.

Not saying it is wrong, but so far I haven't seen anything except that they may be slowed down.
