Homophobe Mike Pence had to swear in Kyrsten Sinema, the first out bisexual Senator in history, on a law book and not a bible. He seems uncomfortable and shes having fun with it. This is everything. https://t.co/1VxBsK1l0u

(53,833 posts)Nah, most homophobes are straight people who cling to their heterosexist (privilege) ways and see us as an "other" who is a threat to their way of life. While a few may be "self-loathing", they are more like racists, misogynists, anti-Semites, Islamophobes, and xenophobes, bigots who have no desire to be a person of color, a woman, a Jew, a Muslim, or a foreigner, they simply hate them for being different.

(17,007 posts)She defeated Republican Martha McSally in the race for the seat vacated by Jeff Flake. I was disappointed to go to bed late, late Election Eve with Sinema behind. It was one of those cliff-hangers, but her vote total slowly increased. It took almost a week for her to be declared the winner.
There has been occasional griping around here by "progressive watchdogs" over her centrist positions, but, hey, she knows how to get elected. That's fine with me.
