Alexi McCammond @alexi

Rep. @RashidaTlaib at an event just now: Recalling a story in which her son said “Look mama you won. Bullies don’t win.” And she said: “You’re right, they don’t. And we’re gonna go in and impeach the motherfucker.”

But she did. Tlaib has a lot to offer as a legislator and a leader of Palestinian-Americans. Now she’ll be typecast as a hothead. She’s much better than that.

Such strong language to use against an administration that's just kidnapping and torturing children luckless enough to fall into its clutches. So uncivil. Tut-tut, says I.

more power to ya. She just made herself the story and did nothing to add to the credibility of the impeachment process. If anything, she hurt it.

Because they were portrayed as wimps. Think Dukakis.

Now will this go viral, you bet. But here is my suggestion, if you are offended by the language, if you are offended by the tactics, you need to sit back.

Because there is no FUCKING WAY, that these mother fucking scum back pukes are going down without a fight. Some of us will be out there talking like this and knocking heads as required. In the end we will all benefit, and bluntly this is the only way we will all benefit.

Again, if it offends you, I can accept that, but it is critical that those offended take a step back and look at the big picture.

You don’t need to drop the MF bomb to appear forceful. There are about 30 different ways she could have communicated the same thought with power and without profanity. She’s also the first Palestinian-American woman to serve in Congress and she handed a propaganda victory to the haters.

I still have very high hopes for her. While AOC has gotten the airtime, Tlaib has a lot more hands-on experience in government and is a doer. She just sabotaged herself. It’s not fatal, but unfortunate and completely unnecessary.

Unfortunately she said it. At this point all we can do is close ranks. Any response from a Dem Rep needs to be, "not the choice of words I would have used, but....tRump is the biggest threat to the greatest Democracy ever and should be treated as such. Some will use too strong of words, but in reality there are no words too strong to counter the tRump threat."

Now that being said, the logical follow up question would be,... so you approve of her comments? A politician would have a second answer. People like me would say, you fucking bet, we are going to impeach that fucking piece of shit Russian traitor.

We have some Tom Joads in the world, I am one of them. Point being, it is in our genetic make up. These people need to be used for the greater good.

the crux of her statement regarding impeachment would have not received any media notation without that language. What a shame our society has degenerated to that low level of intelligence and true civic interest in government that a politicain needs to use such language to get attention.

I think our society is running out of effective words, LOL. Where are we going to find some new ones to get folk's attention?

We now live in a world of news based on sensationalism, massive deception, consumerism and emotional appeal rather than one based on fact and useful information. It seems that much of the world's population simply wants to be entertained with today's new shiny objects and sound bites with shock value.

It's similar to the fact that seeing a movie is no longer a huge treat like in the 50s/60s. Hell, everyone's TV is saturated with access to dozens of movies every day. Many people I know that have exhausted all things that make them feel good, while I can recall feeling as a kid that a trip to the creek to go fishing with dad was the greatest event of the month.

I want my Huntley-Brinkley and Walter Cronkite and my civil and educated America back.....

as it would have been back in the day, with the river of meaningless “content” running as strong as it does and distraction levels being as high as they are. We’ll see what it means for Tlaib. To your point, she certainly put herself on the map in a bigger way than she would have if she spoke properly. Not sure if she’s waking up this morning without any regrets though.

impeachment proceedings will reveal to the public and to the world all the crimes trump, his family and admin have been commiting through countless sworn testimonies. That alone will change minds of some gop senators on how to vote. What they say prior to impeachment is completely irrelevant and should play no role. Not proceeding with impeachement means failing constitutional duty. Basically, violating US constitution and contributing to defrauding of american people. Not the legacy we want to have. But I agree that we must wait until Mueller report.
