SEAN HANNITY (HOST): They play to your fear, government plays to your fear. Which is why you wonder, historically, you've got this up and down in the political cycle. It's appealing when the government says "well we're going to take money from them, and we're going to give it to you. And that's going to take away a lot of your fear. And if you put your faith, your hope, your trust in us, then we're going to make sure that your healthcare is taken care of, your retirement is taken care of, your kids are taken care of." I mean if you listen to socialists at the ultimate level, they want free healthcare, free daycare, free schools -- how're those government schools doing? We pay more per capita than any other country in the industrialized world with the worst results. You can't do any worse than our own public schools.

Those things arent free sean, we just decide thats what we want our tax dollars going to, not extra dollars for rich people, who don't need them.

(7,396 posts)I would think that claim is a bit hard to verify. One other thing that I do not understand: I'm not sure anyone can absolutely define who is part of the "industrialized world" and who isn't.

the reason our public schools don't do well in comparison with other developed nations is that our poverty rate is much higher and schools in impoverished areas typically perform significantly worse.

(20,834 posts)There's no sense arguing with a person that has no interest in your actual side of the argument. He just makes up what he thinks socialism and liberalism is to instill FEAR in his audience. Fuck him and his strawman socialist argument.
