Approaching what should be the coldest part of the year.....

..... and we've had nothing more than a dusting of snow so far in Southeast Michigan (or at least where I am in downtown Detroit) and almost no frigid days. Highs this weekend approaching 50 degrees. ... Wild.

We had one snowfall that motivated me to prepare the snow blower for use, but then the next day's forecast was for sunny, warm temps the next day, so I just let it melt. I think it ended up being 2 or 3 inches.

I'm trying to remember the last time I hadn't had to shovel any snow, this far into the season.

And, BTW, I'm not complaining. I love Michigan for just 3 seasons, out of the year.

On New York's Long Island, people are playing golf, tennis and more. We drove to Jones Beach the other day and there were people surfing!

There's no doubt that humans have impacted Earth's climate. Hopefully, we'll get leaders who will take serious actions to combat this existential problem.

But a nice day is always a nice day.

South central Montana, but we have been experiencing wind for nearly six weeks. Got snow for xmas but it's all blown away and/or melted. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere if my car wasn't super heavy! I remember a warm winter like this in Maine back in the late 60s, the Spring was one of the snowiest I had seen up to then. We had several Nor' easters which each dumped at least 24". The storms seemed to be spaced about two weeks apart and continued into May. I recall playing softball at recess out in the school yard the day before xmas eve, no snow, no jackets.
