Cops say would-be kidnapper chased a woman into a karate studio. It did not end well.

(CNN)A man tries to kidnap a woman by forcing her into his car, in north Charlotte. She breaks free, and runs into a nearby karate studio pleading for help.

You can already see how this ends: with the suspect being carried out on a stretcher after a fight with a karate head instructor.

The incident happened at 9 pm Thursday outside Bushiken Karate Charlotte Dojo, according to CNN affiliate WSOC and the head instructor, Randall Ephraim.

Ephraim told CNN he was straightening up the dojo, the karate studio, when the woman rushed inside: "There were still some kids in the dojo being picked up by parents and a couple of adult students cleaning up when a young lady came through our doors and stated that someone was trying to harm her," he told CNN.

"Shortly afterward, a big male entered the building," he said. "Not knowing what he wanted, I assumed he was inquiring about classes."

"I asked how I could assist him and he stated that he was there for the lady. She insisted that she did not know him and tried to kidnap her."

Ephraim said he asked the man to leave, but he stated he was not going anywhere. "He then tried to force himself further into the dojo, aggressively pushing and swinging," the instructor said.

"I then went into action defending myself and got him out of the dojo. Once outside he attempted to attack again and was dealt with accordingly."

The suspect also tried to assault police officers before he was arrested, WSOC reports. He was taken to the hospital with injuries. There's no word on his condition at this point.

Because she knew, those guys mean business. They do it for exercise, mindfulness and safety.
Good guys only use their killer skills when absolutely necessary.
That guy that saved her should be knighted.

well done and thankful she wasn't harmed. But she could suffer for decades going forward, as if someone else will try to kidnap her.

This is the reality of being a female, folks, it sucks.

Which reminds me. I was a restaurant with my spouse tonight and as we were leaving the place, one of the regulars spoke to me in Swiss German. I motioned that I didn't speak the language (which is not so unusual here in Basel) and my spouse translated for me. I said, I'm sorry, I don't speak german and he just shook my hand, shook my spouse's hand and wishes us well.

Hubby said, next time I come to the restaurant, don't bring him, meaning my spouse.

I'm old, I'm fat and look every bit of my 59 yrs right now. I am not in the least bit attractive right now and that is what it's like to be female when a male decides he wants something.

To the rest of the males on the planet, check your (male) privilege thanks.

in Virginia. Everybody on the bus was going to participate in the championship, including a handful of black belts. At a MacDonalds at a few hours away from our destination this guy decided that he wanted to pick a fight with one of our guys (a really nice black guy who just happened to be the black belt champion for our state). The other guys positioned themselves to assist Henry should he needed it. The rest of just stood by to watch would have been a major ass whooping if the guy was that stupid. This guy has no idea what he was up against. His friends, probably having a gut instinct that they needed to get their friend out of there got him to leave. Henry would not have started a fight but he would have finished it.

I suspect we'll find out that he knew her. If not, maybe he was very drunk or on some other drugs, and mistook her for someone else? It's really weird. Either way, he's clearly very dangerous, and it's good that she's safe from him.

Several years ago, I order Thai Food take out from a place I loved. It was in this little strip mall right next door to an MMA gym. I went to pick up my food and when I walked in, this asshole was yelling and screaming because his order was wrong. The little old husband and wife who ran the restaurant might have weighed a combined 180 lbs, this big dude was up in the face of the little old man, maybe 80 years old and maybe 95 lbs at 5 feet 1 or 2. He was pointing his finger into his chest. Well, this wouldn't stand in front of me, so I got in between the two of them, and I tried to talk the guy down, but he was raging. Somehow I was able to get him to walk outside with me. Well, the little old man followed us out. Things got more heated, just then the leader of the MMA came out in full gi to see if he could help. This guy would not calm down, they refunded his money, but this guy was just losing it and wouldn't be reasoned with. I was successfully keeping it from becoming physical and the police were on their way, but when he saw the MMA instructor something snapped, he tried to choke the little old man, that was a big mistake. I grabbed him from behind and he spun and took a swung at me which I somehow ducked. The MMA instructor had seen enough, he took that guy down in the parking lot in an instant and had an arm bar on him about a half second later. The guy then rotated between begging to be let go and screaming he was going to kill everyone. The instructor just held him there, applying enough pressure to keep him exactly where he was until the police arrived.

Police arrived, guy was arrested and charged with assault and battery. Don't try to mess with professional fighters.
