Nothing wrong with who she associated with, but for several years her best/best friend has been a Black male writer that lives in NYC. They were besties even when she lived in Vegas. The tall blonde woman (with the loud mouth) has a longtime boyfriend who is Black and used to be a tv star. They may be racists, but that would be some mixed up racism, I think that they are financial and popularity opportunists that don't care about the collateral damage they cause.

That throws a whole dimension of weirdness into it, not that they are maybe intimate with someone that they care about, but that they then turn around and blindly attach righteous causes that benefit that person's racial or ethnic group. I guess that when a person is an asshole, the person can still be an asshole and care about someone close to them.
