Yes, I said it after he appeared on Bill Maher and, again, on KasieDC.
Among other things, he is planning on something like the Marshall Plan for the countries in Central America, so their people can mend their systems instead of coming over.
As for running for President, he is thinking...
What is it about Californians who excel? Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Eric Swalwell, Maxine Waters and so many more..

(51,567 posts)He told one of the cable TV interviewers that was her name but I didn't know if it was a nickname or not. I was a first grade school teacher and the names I had in my room were unbelievable. I think that parents try too much to be unique. It is as if they throw a handful of Scrabble tiles in the air and however they land that is the new name and spell in god their newest kid. I had to make two sets of name tags for each class for the poor substitutes who would come in and have no clue how to pronounce the students' names. I had to write them out phonetically. In the 20 years I subbed and taught I didn't have a single Karen, Linda or Susan in the over 100 classes I was in (I subbed over 150 times a year for a while).

(86,332 posts)their state legislature is mandated to function as a direct democracy, and it works when the legislature chooses to work together with the governor to accomplish necessary goals set by the voters. Those who have lived there a long time, some all their lives, understand how it works... most of the elected officials when cheating isn't a factor that is.

By the way, another Iowan, Rob Sand, who was sworn in in Thursday, told me about Eric Swalwell a year ago, and said he was one to watch. It looks like he was right.

(47,437 posts)Congressman Eric Swalwell proudly represents Californias 15th Congressional District, which includes a large portion of the East Bay. In January 2017, he was sworn in for his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, continuing his work to bring new energy, ideas, and a problem-solving spirit to Congress and advance policies that will support equality, opportunity, and security. Congressman Swalwell is co-chair of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which helps set the policy agenda and makes committee assignments for the caucus. He serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he is the top Democrat on the Subcommittee on the CIA, and also on the Committee on the Judiciary. Swalwell also founded and chairs Future Forum, a group of 28 young House Democrats focused on listening to and addressing the needs of millennial Americans.
And... as recent survey show - many want someone new..

(11,794 posts)...I'd support that ticket in a big way. I also really like Martin Heinrich, but I don't think he's planning to run. Either way, with Harris. Beto, Swalwell, Warren, Castro, etc. we've got some candidates that are legit AF.
