When has the right ever been factual about anything?

It’s not like they ever were, and cutting their bullshit some slack, time and time again, repeatedly proves that they’re usually wrong. And that’s not accounting for the times when everyone knows that they’re completely full of bullshit, including themselves.

There are solidly tangible differences between our side and theirs. Sure we can find some common ground on relatively mundane matters, if need be. But let’s not delude ourselves in thinking that our values are the same as their values. It’s clearly not the case. Every comparison between what we care for and what their values are shows that.

Look, we’re not always right on the left, but we’re usually honest about it and when screw up. We have real and necessary incentives to admit it, because we need to be honest about that too. We demand evidence and generally respect it when it’s proven valid. We don’t live for every specious and ludicrous conspiracy that comes down the pike. We believe in objective reality.

But the right usually has a completely different standard to work from. One that’s based on conditional morality, narrowly defined self-interests, paranoia, victimhood, casual hypocrisy, tribalism and a warped sense of reality. Many times they don’t operate as if facts or truth applies to them. They tend to make up their only facts or truth and then refuse to apply them universally.

The right has a very hard time seeing things from our perspective, because their first inclination is to project their own worst qualities onto us. We can’t be correct about whatever or even honest brokers because, deep down, they don’t believe that anyone can be unlike their own dysfunctional and delusional selves.

With too many of them, they’re simply too ignorant to know just how ignorant they actually are. Their ridiculous opinions become facts because they don’t understand what’s real and not. They create a reality that’s only advantageous to themselves and reject any attempt to scrutinize their so-called reality.

When was the last time they volunteered to apply the same criticisms that they have of us to themselves? Why does it take a major crisis to admit that some on their own side may be wrong? When is enough RWNJ bullshit ever enough for them?

So really, why should we ever listen to people who always excuse their own lies, delusions and utterly unrealistic outlook on the world whenever we misspeak minor and correctable facts and figures? They don’t care about what’s correct or not, because they’re only trying to score points.

For them, it’s just about being in some game that they feel that they have to win against us. It’s usually nothing more than phony outrage and fake concern.

They don’t care about us and they never will.

Whenever they judge us, we always consider the source and spirit from which it came. They never consider criticism to be a two way street and neither should we.

Unless they can apply whatever criticisms they have of us to themselves, we should not give a flying fuck about what they say and reiterate that position to their faces.

These are broad brush statements, but the conservatives tend towards what I jokingly call "faith based reasoning". It is that they decide how something "should work" and so declare that it how it actually does work, despite evidence to the contrary. The left isn't totally immune from this, but are more willing to admit when they get it wrong. Some of us old enough remember an ideas that came to be known as "the projects". They were housing facilities that were built for those needing assistance with housing. They were supposed to be this great idea, but they had unintended consequences and ultimately were abandoned and torn down. The left had to admit that they didn't work the way they thought they would.

But despite repeated failures of supply side economics the GOP continues to claim it works and any failings are due to imperfections in the implementation. They want it to work, they NEED it to work to justify their own position in the economy.

Lying about and smearing opponents is pretty much their own strategy they have to cling to power. :-/
