Daily Kos 2020 Straw Poll (Original Post) SidDithers Jan 2019 OP
Doesn't surprise me that Warren is out ahead, she's the only declared candidate so far. bearsfootball516 Jan 2019 #1

I like her, but those numbers will likely be different if they did the poll in a couple months after many more candidates declare.

You’re no fun. I think it’s an interesting poll from KOs. It’s not science, but the opinions of a on-line community.

It's the opinion of the part of it that voted. How big a part? How representative of the whole? We have no idea.

And it can easily be distorted by people doing what I did.

All on-line polls are suspect. This one is the first time I’ve seen these kind of results though.

This is all meaningless without knowing the demographics of the "voters" (not to mention how many times people voted).

Julian Castro 1%
225 votes

Beto O'Rourke 15%
2362 votes

Elizabeth Warren 22%
3330 votes

Kamala Harris 16%
2380 votes

Joe Biden 13%
2001 votes

Cory Booker 3%
422 votes

Bernie Sanders 9%
1438 votes

Kristen Gillibrand 1%
217 votes

I'm a Republican, sticking with Trump 1%
81 votes

Other 9%
1313 votes

Unsure 10%
1514 votes

I looked back at 2016 and it was Bernie 61% to Clinton 35% right before the Iowa contest, so not an accurate reflection but still entertaining. Biden's base isn't likely to be voting on DailyKos, it's going to lean much farther left than the real numbers. C

The most interesting thing is Bernie's numbers are terrible compared to back then.
