Jimmy Carter joins former presidents who deny discussing border wall with Trump

Former President Carter on Monday became the latest former president to deny telling President Trump that he regrets not building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump last week claimed former presidents have discussed the subject with him.

"I have not discussed the border wall with President Trump, and do not support him on the issue," Carter, who served as president from 1977 to 1981, said in a statement issued through the nonprofit Carter Center.

His comments come after spokespeople for former President Clinton and former President George W. Bush denied that either man had discussed the prospect of a border wall with Trump.

Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña told Politico last week that the former president had not talked about the subject with Trump.
"In fact, they’ve not talked since the inauguration," Ureña added.

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford also told the news outlet that the two had not talked about his wishes for a border wall.

Former President Obama has not weighed in on the subject, and a spokesperson declined to comment for Politico's report on the matter last week.

But Obama has never endorsed Trump's proposal for a border wall, and has criticized the idea behind it.

we’d assume that it, too, was a lie. He has shown us that most of what comes out of his mouth is false. So why would we ever believe he is capable of speaking truthfully?

The problem with lying (other than just being morally wrong) is that people learn not to trust you. And once trust is violated and you find out someone is dishonest, it is kind of hard to regain that trust. tRump has made the mistake of thinking he can keep on lying and it won’t matter. Maybe for his hardcore base. The rest of us caught on to his sick game long ago. So too bad for him. His place in the Liars Hall of Shame is well established.

...lying racist and traitor. Do this each and every time he lies to the American public. True this may be a daily, hourly occurance however his lies need to be countered with facts. Perhaps a new committee..just dealing with his lies is needed... call it trump daily lies and maldad committe. [Maldad:bad, evil, sick behavior]

I can't believe that the most Jesus-aligned US president of my lifetime would speak out against the Wall. How could anyone with a distinguished military career in the US Navy speak out against a bone-spur draft-evading scamster. It is shocking, that this should happen.
