Aside from being his first national address, everything turns on this tonight for him. Everything.
I loved to watch the artistry of a Clinton speech and was inspired by Oabama's performances. W was a bore but it was still must watch given the gravity of the times. But, I was always nervous. Any small slip was like blood in the water for Media sharks. Look just at Justice Roberts screwing up the Oath and how that got turned around on Obama. Rubio and Jindal fell victim to this as well.
Tonight is it for Trump. As I've posted for the last two weeks - this is his last stand. He's handled the whole thing horribly but the consensus in the White House is that if he doesn't get this now his re-election is in serious doubt. His first two years have basically fallen flat. Yes some big wins but they aren't in the public consciousness, mainly due distractions and course changes of his own making. He has this third year to show something. Everything in the fourth year is seen as purely political. His performance tonight is crucial. I have no doubt he knows how big this is.
Everything rides on tonight.

(50,774 posts)The only possible win for us would be if the ratings flopped and he did not get the attention he is demanding with this.
This is a manufactured crisis and we are fools if we let ourselves be part of it.

If Stormy gets more views, he will explode. If more deplorables watch her underwear than Donald's vaporware, he can't keep the Senate bullied.

Donald -has- to have attention. Anything that starves him of this is GOOD.

We'll hit the heights.
And oh, what heights we'll hit.
