Your feckless president did nothing but make a campaign speech after telling us he was going to invoke some national emergency powers. His speech was so ineffective that another of your colleagues, just tonight, has decided to jump ship and join with Democrats to open the government, wall be damned.
His whole world is wrapped up in Faux Nooze, which, in turn, is losing viewership and influence in the face of our massive blue wave. His mojo is gogo-gone.
You now have a choice. You can soldier on in league with a loser or you can reassess. No need to become a Democrat (in truth, we really don't want most of you). Just put pressure on your Senate leadership to put the Democratic-branded 100% Republican bill up for a vote and let the loser decide what to do. He has three choices - sign, veto, or do nothing. You will have the votes to override the veto, so any one of the three will result in the bill becoming law.
See how easy that is?
Whatzzat? You're afraid of a Trump-backed primary challenger? Pshaw. He's completely out of gas. I mean, really. He's so bad off he had to use tonight to actually beg for money. Think about that. He's got nothing.
So do the right thing for once.

(17,981 posts)That is the choice Republicans now face. Stand with Trump, go over the cliff or stand for the workers.
Has anyone noticed Mitch is not saying a word? Outside of a tepid speech on the Senate floor, nothing. He knows this shutdown is not working in his favor.
