NY: After 'disastrous' 2018 showing, 11 GOP county leaders call on state chairman Ed Cox to resign

ALBANY — After what many state Republican leaders say was a disastrous election cycle, a move is afoot to pressure state GOP Chairman Ed Cox to resign, the Daily News has learned.

Eleven upstate county Republican chairs from the northern part of the state issued a letter Tuesday to Cox saying it’s time for him to go. The chairs also sent the letter to other party leaders across the state.

While the 11 chairs come from smaller counties, a source said other county chairs could join the effort in the coming days. Another GOP insider said they are hoping Cox’s departure can be agreed to peacefully.

Cox’s term runs through September and he’s said he expects to seek reelection as party chairman, a position he’s held since 2009.

...although he and Tricia should be pleased that Trump has knocked Nixon out of the top spot of most reviled POTUS in history.
