What does it mean that Rosenstein has announced he is leaving DOJ?

He expects William Barr to be confirmed as the new AG?

He expects to be fired when a new AG is appointed?

The Mueller investigation is getting ready to wrap up?

He is looking for approval from Barr, the likely new AG?

Rosenstein has protected Mueller during this entire investigation. Why would he leave now?

He'll hand it off to Barr and has confidence Barr will be compelled to do the right and honorable thing with the report, because the evidence is so overwhelming.

I think the country is in for an even more turbulent time this March-April. I suspect that's when the shit will really hit the fan.

So this departure is him just staying to what he said. I wish he'd delay his departure but.....

Maybe he's got plans for future political aspirations and doesn't want to be tainted by what he knows is about to happen. It might make him popular with Democrats, but not so much with his own political party.
