Doesn't shutting down the Federal Government create more of an emergency than not building a wall? (Original Post) jalan48 Jan 2019 OP

Yes, I agree. Chaos could be created on a number of levels. The food chain is a big (biggest) one. jalan48 Jan 2019 #9

which causes more widespread damage than even a whole bunch of actual terrorists sneaking through a wall-less border could reasonable cause.

but we always knew that the real emergency was having a donnie in the white house....

Food safety inspectors are considered “essential” and are being required to report in without promise of pay. Once they go, you’ll get shuttered slaughterhouses, produce moldering in warehouses and piling up at ports and loading docks. Can’t ship what hasn’t been inspected properly to market.

Dealing with the physical and psychological impact of a potential terrorist attack is one thing. Breaking the nation’s food supply chain is entirey on a different magnitude.

Once the regulatory structures are broken it will be difficult to replace them without total control of government by the Democrats.

It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, white or black, gay or straight. Everyone has got to eat. It grinds my gears that this potential crisis is going unreported by the MSM.

Right now, I’m eyeballing learning to can my own food and make preserves. I’ve been googling what vegetables grow well at this time of year. Plant a “furlough garden.” Maybe I’m overreacting, but Mango Unchained isn’t being at all reassuring.

Perhaps somebody pointed out that 15-year civil-engineering projects do not look very convincingly like emergency measures. “My house is burning! Time to begin the process of calling for design proposals for a new fire station.”

Why would anyone in Dolt45's administration think this out? They are incapable of planning ahead for anything other than stealing our money.
