I'll play the devil's advocate

We know that Whiny Donny had no experience in running for office. For awhile he did what he likes to do "I alone," "I am better than anyone else." And then he hired a friend, Manafort.

Thus, it is possible that he did not know about Manafort meetings with Russians.

I also think that none of them - Manafort, Jr., - knew that discussing campaign issue with a foreign representatives was against the law. The pundits keep saying that, hey, if "I" were approached by a foreign agent I would alert the FBI but, honestly, I don't know how many of us - not experienced in running campaigns - would know.

Of course, as every boss knows, you are responsible for what your subordinates do. But I think that he may be able to get away with not being part of this.

And Russian oligarchs to buy his condos.

Manafort is a crooked businessman, as Cohen is a crooked lawyer.

So crooks will associate.

But the media loves to promote the "smoking gun" narrative. Or, the "smocking gun" narrative.

2. Fortunately, even if you're right, Individual 1 is still in lots and lots of trouble.

Mueller's mandate is fairly flexible, and he and his investigators are in what you could call a 'target rich environment'. So there really is zero chance that multiple skeletons aren't coming back to haunt Individual 1.

that Russia wanted to infiltrate his campaign. Hillary was told the same thing. The FBI asked him to tell them if he received such contacts.

He wasn't ignorant. He was compromised.

4. The FBI informing him the prior year precludes any plausible deniability on his part

The FBI, informing him of the issues and concerns the prior year precludes any plausible deniability on his part.

"In the weeks following... Donald Trump was warned that... Russia, would probably try to spy on and infiltrate his campaign. The warning came in the form of a high-level counterintelligence briefing by senior FBI officials... "

7. Manafort is a lawyer with for decades of experience in politics so he knows campaign laws well

As campaign manager if he was ethical, he would have steered Trump Jr and Kushner and others away from meeting with Russians or other foreigners during campaign.

FBI actually met with all of the Trump campaign staff soon after Trump won the nomination to warn them about foreign contacts and that they were supposed to report to FBI any attempts by foreigners to contact them.

Finally, if they were innocent and just didn't know the laws, why did they all persistently lie about their Russian contacts.

9. Thanks. I did not know that

As mentioned yesterday on MSNBC, he appears to be more afraid of the Russian thugs than of Manafort, of spending the rest of his life in jail of - I think - losing all his wealth and harming his family.
