"My threshold is that I can't make a deal with people who are unreasonable"

Asked about his threshold on calling a national emergency.

Said Democrats are also "breaking away" because they want a wall.

Badgered reporter Jonathan Karl, who asked if he could sign the bills to re-open the government.

Kept repeating "WOULD YOU DO THAT IF YOU WERE IN MY POSITION?"

Karl was clearly flustered and started stammering, Trump kept hammering, then said "The reason I ask is that if you would do that if you were in my position, you should never BE in my position, because you'd never get anything done!"

Jonathan Karl has been such a reliable mouthpiece for Republican viewpoints for years. And this is the thanks he gets? Now, some people would say, "Screw that, if you don't appreciate my obsequiousness, Imma turn on you like a rattlesnake." But I get the feeling that Karl sees his path laid in a more supine manner.

Trump belittles @jonkarl, tells him, "I watch your one-sided reporting...seriously, Jon, do you think I should just sign [funding bills w/o the wall]?...because if you would do that, you should never be in this position. Because you'd never get anything done." #civility

As opposed to all the . . . well, something, I'm sure, that Trump is getting done about now.

An American President should never play the role of hostage takers. It is not the policy of this country to negotiate with hostage takers.

millions of us of the false rationale and reasoning behind the need for a so called wall, other than you just being racist and a bigot. What would I do in your position? RESIGN and let others far more qualified run the country/office of the president. You've clearly have shown that you don't have the qualifications.
