He said that he didn’t remember what he did on August 8hth (I believe),and I was like...dude, your the president!!! Don’t you keep daily journals or something?? It sounded crazy to me for him to play the “I don’t remember card”. Sure, no one remembers specific days, but he should have records.

St Ronnie was already losing his mind as i recall. big fricken sham investigation. He was one of the first "allowed' to testify in private....but NO WAY for Bill Clinton several years later. They made him toe the line and be humiliated. It was awful.

But I clearly remember something because I was appalled at his “I don’t remember “. Yes, he had Alzheimer’s, but there’s the daily records of President.
And I voted for him, so I was really not happy about it. Note that I was 18 and didn’t know any better.

.. but I think it was clear that he wasn't firing on all cylinders at that point. He probably knew in the broadest terms, but forgot much of the details... who did what, etc.
The knowledge that Reagan was mentally incompetent during part of his Presidency gives me cold chills. All those nukes...
