He appeared to be so happy he was about to burst into laughter for most of the segment.
I don't know if he and Rachel were swapping funny stories off camera or if Warner knows something is coming.
He looked like he was about to bust up laughing when they were talking about Manafort's lawyers "accidentally" telling the world that Manafort was sending campaign polling data to the Russians.
He also questioned the sanctions relief for the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska at this time, especially since Manafort was sending information to a Russian contact who was passing it on to Deripaska.
I was glad to see my senior Senator in such good spirits, but if anyone knows what's up, I would like to know as well.
Update 12:40 a.m. Saturday morning:
Pure speculation, but I see (possibly) why my senior Senator was so elated last night on Rachael Maddow.
Mark Warner is on the Senate Intelligence Committee and has access to classified information. He is the ranking Democrat on that committee and perhaps Muellers best friend in the Senate. I think he already knew about the counterintelligence operation Thursday night, maybe from the same person(s) who leaked the story to the NYT.
The thought of Trump finally getting nailed makes me giddy. Perhaps it had the same effect on the Senator.

(2,064 posts)And as of January 3 we have a great rep in VA07! I've been in VA for 20 years and this is the first time I've actually had a representative in Congress.

(1,633 posts)Because the district is so much gerrymandered, no Democrat can compete fairly.
But, there is a fight;

(1,739 posts)Don't forget he voted for a woman who thinks torture and destruction of evidence involved in an investigation is OK to run the CIA.
I'll vote for him against a repuke but I'll be watching for a primary, too.

(33,643 posts)I've not seen him many times, but 'in NO WAY jovial' would definitely be a way I'd describe him in the handful of times I've seen him speak or in interviews.
IOW him being jovial PROBABLY 'means something' ... and it's probably good for Democrats.

(2,064 posts)I took his demeanor to mean something good for Democrats as well.
His role on the Senate Intelligence Committee gives him access to a lot of information, some of it classified. I suspect that there is something big coming down the pike.
