(63,221 posts)It's much more than that. There is something very strange going on here.

(12,904 posts)Lindsey has no wife or children to threaten. So, I think its some form of blackmail.

Washington (CNN)Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Wednesday his campaign email account was hacked by Russians -- adding that the US needs to work together to stop this from happening.
"I do believe the Russians hacked into the (Democratic National Committee). I do believe they hacked into (John) Podesta's email account. They hacked into my campaign account," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room." "I do believe that all the information released publicly hurt Clinton and didn't hurt Trump. I don't think the outcome of the election is in doubt. What we should do is not turn on each other but work as one people to push back on Russia."
He added he doesn't believe that the hacking affected the elections.
"I think Hillary Clinton lost because she wasn't an agent of change and she tried to disqualify Trump and she wasn't able to do it," he said. "This is not a Republican or Democratic issue."
"They're trying to destabilize democracy all over the world. Not just here," he said about the Russians. "Here's what we should do. We should tell the Russians that on no uncertain terms, you interfere in our elections, we don't care why, we're going to hit you and hit you hard, we're going to introduce sanctions, it'll to be bipartisan."

(14,958 posts)It could be as simple as he took dirty foreign money just like those other GOP crooks, and they'll stick together to prolong their freedom from prosecution.
FakeNoose
(32,633 posts)Graham took the dirty money in 2016 but he's not up for reelection until 2020. There has to be more though, they're all guilty of that. It's kompromat of some kind.
Mr.Bill
(24,281 posts)got Russian money laundered through the NRA. Some of them may honestly be unaware the money came from Russia. But people like McConnell, Graham, Rubio, Cruz, etc. damn well knew it.

(26,281 posts)only makes sense if money was somehow involved.
ScratchCat
(1,981 posts)and there are several that had no idea it was Russian money, then why wont even ONE go to the DOJ and tell them they are being blackmailed over that payment? It would take ONLY ONE to blow the entire thing up. At this point, if its true, then they would have to know that Mueller and the DOJ know. Maybe someone has turned States evidence and we don't know yet, but you'd think there would be just one who would do the right thing and go to the feds. Its not like they would be looking at a significant crime anyway. It just makes no sense that nobody would have spoken up if they were simply being blackmailed over a "mistaken Russian campaign contribution".
And its "sex-related" with Graham. No doubt about it. Its cool while he is in the closet, but if his peeps see pics of even him kissing another man, it wont be ok anymore.
Mr.Bill
(24,281 posts)has expanded into the entire picture of campaign contributions for all of Congress, then I'm sure he has questioned many congressional staff and campaign managers if not members of Congress themselves. And inevitably, some of them have lied. I think a good percentage of the republican Congress could be up to their necks in this. And they are all scared shitless.

(328 posts)Yes, it certainly looks like Putin/Trump have some lever to force Graham's submissive behavior. But how is money going to fix this? Are you proposing investigation/blackmail/bribes from the left, as well?
