Hey, DT wants a counter offer. How about Restoration of Voting Rights Act, citizenship for dreamers, legal strike down of Citizens United, Federal legalization of pot, Medicare for all, making lying by a chief executive an impeachable offense, his resignation, etc., etc.
He might surprise everybody and accept some of it just to be impredictable -- which would place it all at Mitch McConnell's doorstep to pass. Poor poor Mitch would probably disappear into his shell, never to be seen again.

(2,107 posts)Being seen as the reasonable side of an impasse only works on Democrats and a few George Will type Republicans. Other America needs to see the Dems make a big counter offer -- dare I say a "YUGE" counteroffer. Then, maybe, some of the people who, by rights, should be voting Democratic will get past images like Schumer and Pelosi standing like mannequins, reading their rebuttals in a flag-stuffed hallway.
