On "Morning Joe," Kamala Harris was asked why she would want to be president

The Hill @thehill 1h1 hour ago
WATCH: Scarborough asks Kamala Harris question that "doomed" Ted Kennedy’s presidential run: "Why would you want to be president?" http://hill.cm/4pfkqFj

____Speaking on "Morning Joe," Kamala Harris was asked by the co-host why she wants to be president...

Harris responded by saying the country is looking for vision and leadership.

"Because I believe our country wants and needs leadership that provides a vision of the future of our country in which everyone can see themselves," Harris told Scarborough.

"So let's start from that, and then think about what we need to do to speak to all of the people of our country, to ensure that we see them, to understand we don't need to accept false choices in terms of how we approach public policy," she added. "I'm a career prosecutor. I've spent my entire life, almost, focused on public safety."

"We can do that and also focus on issues like what we need to do to build a healthy economy," Harris said.

One of my favorite politicians, John Kerry, struggled mightily at that.

It IS important to the public that they like the candidate. No matter what some say, the people decide for themselves what is and is not important. History tells us that voters liking a candidate removes a hurdle, at worst, and makes a voter inclined to vote for the person, at best.

You either got it or you don't. It can't be faked. Obama, Bill Clinton, Reagan, even GWB, were extremely likable.

Republicans fall in line. Democrats fall in love, they say.

Did a meet and greet here in Vegas with her and Congressman Horsfort. We were set up for fifty people and ended up with well over three hundred or more and Ms Harris was scheduled for 30 minutes and stayed until everyone's questions were answered. I think it was almost two hours and then she did two or three TV interviews after, only one showed up being aired. Only the CBS affiliate ran the interview and it was chopped up from 20 minutes to maybe 30 seconds. The two Sinclair owned stations ran a negative commentary about Harris.

Watch the Media create a negative image narrative. They are doing it with Warren and AOC.

...Warren and AOC are both dancing around the nonsense thrown their way.

It's not a fluke that the attacks are well out of step where most Americans live and reason. This republican party is an anachronism, and their stubborn refusal to separate from Trump has mired them in everything the president is being assailed for.

...that's why the question is framed so weird.

But reports came yesterday from several sources...

Sen. Kamala Harris has decided to run for president in 2020 and will announce her candidacy on or around Martin Luther King Jr. Day, probably at a campaign rally in Oakland, sources close to the freshman senator from California tell KCBS Radio.

No ifs. No ands. No buts.

She has none of the history or controversies of many others.
She is well respected and has been a no-nonsense, no-drama Senator.

She checks all the boxes with no serious issues to speak about.

Intelligence. Charisma. Backbone. A stalwart, life-long progressive Democrat.
