Why are innocent federal workers being punished ...because DT wants a wall?

We need to stress the artificial coupling of the wall and innocent American workers! Why do DT and McConnell think it fine to punish Americans?

What did they do to him? Or is it that they are powerless to stop him?

This is using Americans as hostages to get a fake wall, by a malevolent president.

It is clear he has no feelings for innocent Americans...the federal employees didn't stop his wall.

Where is JUSTICE! This is an affront to American people everywhere! DT could do this to ANYONE! He clearly doesn't even care about his own voters!

Or is this just pretext for the giant dictatorial power grab (emergency powers)? gulp...

And do we even know if he grabs emergency powers, that the shutdown will end? No we don't! Maybe he'll hold out until the court fight goes his way.

There is no end to the Hell of this evil that we are stuck in.

I've been arguing with my older "libertarian" father via email about this all week. He really thinks that Trump is right and the Dems are wrong. It's maddening.

So now the American people that work for the government , or rely on the federal government businesses, are screwed because trump lied and now wants us all to pay for his failure. Even though he promised , and repeatedly stated how easy it would be to get them to pat for it. He lied, and used the bait and switch on the American taxpayer now wanting us to foot the bill because he failed, and zero should be given to him for a wall, or else a lot of people will be pissed. This will easily take trump out of the picture for 2020 , because donors and voters are running from trump and the republicans now, and again the 2020 election will be even worse for republicans than the Mid Terms was.

the federal employees are hostages, but they're also what makes "big gubmint" function.

shuttering the IRS is a treat for conservative know-nothings.

The Democratic leadership will never agree to wall under normal conditions and they shouldn't. Trump knows this. Republicans know this. What Trump is doing now is betting that Democratic leadership won't sit by as he drives the country over the ledge and into a recession or worse. Democratic leadership is betting that he won't take the country over the ledge. Now it's about whose bluff is going to be called first.
