New Poor People's Campaign - descend on D.C. (Resurrection City)

Part of Dr. King's original mission with his 1968 Poor People's Campaign was to have a broad cross-section of economically dis-enfranchised hold what would be effectively a peaceful 'move-in' on the Mall in D.C. The intention was to use the presence of so many persons in town at once to daily meet with the legislators until the people were finally given redress.

Wondering out loud now whether that may be what has to take place - massive peaceful marches and the like - to finally get the republicans to move on their (mcconnell) intransigence with not even allowing a vote to re-fund the government. Make donnie veto the damn thing if that's what needs to be done - he already said he 'owns' the shutdown.

Missed paychecks today are going to accelerate the world of hurt on hundreds of thousands of people.
