California Senator Kamala Harris remained coy about her presidential hopes on Thursdays Late Show, but the Democrat did tease the possibility of a 2020 run.
Many people who put out books two years before a presidential election do so to introduce themselves in a broad way to the American people, Stephen Colbert said, referencing her new memoir The Truths We Hold: An American Journey. Are you gonna run for president? Harris nodded and smiled, as if holding back a secret, and said, I might, before erupting with laughter.
Colbert addressed the rumor that Harris might announce her candidacy on Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 21st. But the politician slyly side-stepped the question, instead noting, We should always honor the great Dr. Martin Luther King.
Earlier in her Late Show interview, Harris criticized President Trump for shutting down the government after failing to receive $5.7 billion in funding to build a wall along the U.S./Mexico border. The shutdown, currently in its 21st day, is now tied for the longest in U.S. history.

1. She has vigorously supported highway robbery aka Civil Asset Forfeiture and hasnt backed away from it.
2. She not only defended Californias death penalty statute but bald faced lied about the reason for doing it. Harris claimed she was duty bound to defend the death penalty in California but then proved that was a crock when she refused to defend Proposition 8.
3. Her actions in the Daniel Larson case are particularly appalling. Despite a judge dismissing charges against him for lack of evidence, Harris fought to keep him in jail. Her reason? He filed too late - a trifling technicality. This is just one instance of her love affair with Californias draconian Three Strikes Law.
No thanks.
