E.W. Jackson: Likening Trump to Hitler Could 'Precipitate a Civil War'

For the eight years that Barack Obama was in the White House, we listened to an endless parade of right-wing critics compare him to Hitler and regularly equate the Democrats and the progressive movement with Nazis. Now that President Trump is in office, right-wing activists are aghast that anyone would dare to compare the president to Hitler, with E.W. Jackson using his radio program yesterday to warn that doing so is a direct threat to lives of Trump’s supporters and an effort to start a civil war.

“They’re calling us supporters of Hitler because they say that Donald Trump is like Hitler, which is one of the most preposterous things I have ever heard in my life,” Jackson complained. “You have got to have BBs for brains to say something like that, you really do. You really do. You’ve got to be a nutcase.”

“To say that President Trump is to be likened to Hitler is to say that all of those who voted for him—and I’m one of them, I voted for him—are so evil that we support Adolf Hitler,” he added. “If you support Donald Trump and Donald Trump is Hitler, then that means you support Hitler. If you support Donald Trump and Donald Trump is a rabid racist, then that means you’re a rabid racist. If you support Donald Trump and Donald Trump is the epitome of evil, that means that you are the epitome of evil … Are these people trying to precipitate a civil war? Are they trying to stir people up to commit violence against the president, against those of us who support him?”

“If you really believe that Donald Trump is the equivalent of Adolf Hitler and those of us who support him are the equivalent of the followers of Hitler, do we need to be killed too?” Jackson asked. “Is that what the implication is? That we should die, that we should be murdered? I’m not trying to be hyperbolic or overly-dramatic, but when you use that kind of analogy, you use that kind of imagery, you’ve got to play it out to its logical conclusion.”

Hitler was a good speaker, Trump is incoherent.

Hitler hated the Russians, Trump loves some Russians.

Keep having the conversation. Normalize the words. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler.

okay w/ the events in Charlottesville and okay w/ his supporters elbowing people at his rallies, and his blatant encouragement to supporters by offering to pay their court bills if need be. Of course when one rump supporter did attack someone and lost the case for getting money from rump for defense, rump simply proved that he is a hypocrite too, by not supporting his own voter when they attacked someone.

Any paranoid stems from fact that rabid and thuggish rump supporters have attacked innocents (not all of them to be honest here), but there are enough of these thugs to overcome any positive interactions (towards the press too) towards a lot of rump voters.

Democrats and our party are not paranoid, but have been burned too many times by the blatant lies, the false attacks, Pizza Gate, the numerous HRC investigations, attacks against Obama, and in general, attackes on just about anything we stand for. Now, rump seems to be doing a lot of the so same terrible things, which makes the republicans seem petty, repetitive, and vindictive.

We respect the other side's right to their opinions and beliefs. Just don't physically (literally) attack us while doing it and be and respect the rights and beliefs of other non rump voters. Don't go after foreign money to raise money supposedly for campaigns...what's the matter, you can't get enough money from domestic US voters?

And when you raise money in this manner (from overseas), why did you all hide this fact? Why in the world are you taking money from these sources? I thought you were all American (according to republicans, so don't need such foreign money).

Not that I really care about this too much, but there are laws against 'outside' money being used to influence elections and what not, and there are good reasons for this money to be strictly limited or banned. Too much chance of influence (as we all clearly see w/ rump).
