"...he is trying to sabotage his own presidency."

This said by a coworker last week. I walked into the break room for a coffee and the "political expert" in the office who also happens to be a Republican and a heavy Trump supporter was offering his "expert analysis."

Here's the gist of it:

"At this point it is obvious, he doesn't want to get re-elected. He seems to be on a mission to piss everyone off. If you believe what Howard Stern said, and it Trump and Howard go way back, Trump didn't want to be president in the first place. But he stayed in too long and had so choice. But I think he is trying to sabotage his own presidency and to make it so there's no way he can win in 2020. Look as the stuff he tweets. There's no way he means half of that stuff."

I didn't say anything, but as I was walking back to my cube I couldn't help but think about how the Republican party has imploded since November of 2016. I recall people telling me in November 2016 that was the end of the road for the Democrats. My how times have changed.

want to be president in the first place. At first when I heard this - I kinda believed him.

But reported incidents tell me differently. He invoked Russia to help him put out Hillary's e-mails. And just the other day we found out that he had Cohen pay to sway a poll in Trump's favor.

Those incidents - among other things - tells me differently. He really wanted to win the presidency.

It's just a good excuse now to say that he really didn't expect to win. Given his campaign speeches around the country and his love to give a campaign speech - I just don't believe this Russian Asset. Do you?
