Some people fear impeachment will rip our country apart.

I say, Trump and the Republicans have already ripped our country apart. They have turned against the constitution, the rule of law and the American people.

We are at war, a war of beliefs and we better recognize how much danger we are in.

Trump and the Republicans are trying to force, by any means necessary, their proven wrong beliefs and ideology upon all of us. They refuse to recognize their beliefs, ideology do not work.

They want to make America white only. They want to force their religious beliefs upon all of us. They believe everything should be privatized. Anything government is wrong and should be destroyed. They only believe in the constitution and the rule of law when it works for them. When it doesn't they will break it.

They want to completely destroy the New Deal. They want to go back in time where everyone had to make it on their own. Only the strong should survive.

Not only do I believe we should impeach Trump, we must vote the Republicans out of power in 2020 and keep them out of power indefinitely until they realize they are wrong about almost everything. We most force them to change by keeping them out of power for as long as it takes. I see no other path that will cure their madness.

The American people did this to the Republicans back in 1930s. They did not win back the Whitehouse until twenty years later when Ike won.

When Ike won he continued the New Deal. The Republican party was forced to change. Google an Ike State of the Union speech. It sounds like a speech from a democrat.

So right about the "humorless" description. Like the polar opposite of "like to have a beer with him/her"

Watching, he seemed soul-less too. Automaton like. Very odd.

Focused is a perfect description too. Single-Focused to a fault. Chris had to pretty much tell him to shut up a couple times. Like he literally didn't have the ability to absorb other information other than what he was thinking or saying.

The thought of him being president makes me gag. I can't imagine him ever actually winning a nomination let alone an election. So guess we'd have to weigh one to two more years of trump against one to two years of a different kind of Dipshit if trump was gone before 2020.

Sun Jan 20, 2019, 12:14 PM
Jan 2019

It was shown on national television for the first time in US history (I believe) and many of us watched it all. Nixon resigned to avoid certain impeachment and conviction.

Trump may eventually be impeached but we can't skip the steps to get to that point. The completion of the investigation, Congressional hearings, Mueller's report, the remaining indictments, the trials from those indictments - all need to happen first. Meanwhile it's a very real possibility that Trump could be voted out of office in 2020 and the need for impeachment will suddenly go away. But charges/indictments against him will still be pending and he'll no longer have "executive privilege" to fall back on.

Young people don't vote because they see both sides acting corruptly. Our leaders need to understand that young people still want to believe in the ideal of justice and equality. They are watching us and deciding if the system truly is rigged. We have the opportunity to inspire a new generation of voters if we hold these criminals accountable.

Impeachment seems the only way to communicate the message that criminal behavior is not acceptable. I do think, however, that impeachment has some risks for Democrats because the Senate is unlikely to remove Trump from office unless Mueller’s evidence proves something as serious as treason. Republicans will dismiss obstruction and even Trump campaign crimes if they do not directly implement Trump in ordering such crimes. If the House impeaches Trump, Republicans will simply run on a Democratic witch hunt in 2020. That’s why I hope Democrats pass House bills to improve healthcare, plan for infrastructure spending, permanent resolution for the DACA recipients, and updated border security including surveillance and other technology. Of course, the Senate will not also pass those laws, but they will be part of the record. Independents will be the key to winning in 2020, and Democrats need to make sure they’re addressing their concerns as well as those of Democratic voters.

a reason. Our framers of the constitution put them in there (and amendments too) for a reason. We must honor their memories and respect why they put this in these articles (impeachment process into the constitution, amendment).

Even as so many have said that impeachment won't go anywhere because the senate is landlocked w/ repugs, we'll have them on record as supporting this illegally elected crook as a so called president.

When the crap finally goes down w/ Mueller's report(s), as well as all of the other prior convictions and the numerous investigations already underway, and we are justified in pursuing the seeking of the truth, questions need to be asked of the other party why didn't they support this country in its time of need? Why didn't they rise above the fray and come to this country's rescue? Why didn't they take steps to bring us back to an even keel? Of course the answer is obvious in repug eyes, party before country, donors before the rest of us.
