Chris Wallace Calls Out Pence for Saying ‘ISIS is Defeated’ Hours After Attack: ‘You Were Briefed’ Before Statement

On this week’s edition of Fox News Sunday, Wallace interviewed Pence from a backup studio, because, he explained, there was a fire at the network’s main Washington, DC studio. After quizzing Pence on Donald Trump‘s latest attempt to work his way out of the Trump shutdown, and several other topics, Wallace turned to the tragic events in Syria this week.

“This week, you defended [Trump]’s decision to pull US troops out of Syria, and here’s the quote,” Wallace said, and read Pence’s quote back to him, said “‘We are bringing our troops home, the caliphate has crumbled, and ISI has been defeated.'”

“But you were briefed before that statement, about the fact that there had been this horrific suicide bombing that killed four Americans,” Wallace pointed out, and asked “Is that what the defeat of ISIS looks like?”

Pence delivered a lengthy answer in which he claimed that the United States and its allies have “literally crushed the ISIS state,” but did not address Wallace’s point about Pence having been briefed prior to claiming that ISIS had been “defeated.”

Someone finally calls out the Vice President for promoting propaganda!

The Vice President of the United States was briefed as to the actual details of an attack, and gave the public the exact opposite account!

to the American people about what happened in Syria. What happens when something truly horrible happens and we don't get the true story from our leaders on what really happened? Pence is so worthless. And I think he's actually is on something (an actual soda pop). Either that, or he's got some kind of 'fake' smile built into his face. Disgusting.

I'll bet that he believe that the earth was made 6000 years ago. Fine. That's their choice, but to use this biased thinking for the rest of us is potentially dangerous, in that to have this sort of thinking in a world that actually has to deal w/ real time events, and actual, verifiable facts in building computer systems, missiles, complex machinery, etc. will not simply work.

For if pence, during an actual national security event (an actual attack by a foreign adversary), will transcribe or map those actual events of today into a model that mirrors his version of the coming 'end times'...then reactions undertaken by the US Government could be very wrong and led to what they / pence desires, the so called end times. All because he alone 'thinks' its end times.

Wallace asked the question. Then he let pence go on an on about how awful President Obama was with Syria and what an awesome job trump is doing and how wonderful the troops are. Then Wallace finished with huge thank you to vp pence.

It's like I saw a totally different clip than the OP. It made me sick. Wallace just gave the deplorables more ammo.
