In Trump country, Republicans cheer on shutdown: The 'government is our biggest enemy'

I guess that is Trump's ultimate con. First, the shutdown becomes its own end. Second, by forcing federal employees to work without pay, most folks in Trump country never see the adverse affects of a shutdown.

The rich are not getting tax refunds? Order, IRS employees to work for free. Meanwhile stick it to Democrats by simply abandoning Federal Parks and letting folks vandalize the area. Take that Sierra Club!

Finally, get the white working class to support you by blaming their troubles on immigrants and foreign trade.

Here in this northern Colorado coal town, those 10 words, and the unplowed parking lot of that Bureau of Land Management facility, are among the few obvious signs that the nation's federal government is partially closed, resulting in nearly 1 million American workers not getting their taxpayer-paid paychecks. Many of Craig's 9,000 residents are just fine with that.

In this low-slung Western town that still celebrates cowboys and cattle rustlers, Christmas and Christ, and where the smokestacks of coal-fired power plants bracket the broad valley, residents wonder aloud: Doesn't the shutdown prove their long-held argument that the federal government is too big, too powerful and too expensive?

"It kind of makes me question what they do on a day-to-day basis," says Paul James, 31, who runs the town's sole medical marijuana dispensary. "If I don't miss them, what were they doing?

1. So basically Trump voters are a bunch of selfish pricks that refuse to see beyond

their own narrow world view and don't care how much the rest of the country suffers as long as they're happy. The article even says that this Trump voting town's biggest concern is how air pollution regulations are killing the coal industry. In other words, the whole planet has to suffer climate change so these selfish yokels can keep their lifestyle.

I'm done even trying to pretend like I need to understand these idiot's "economic anxiety." How about they give a shit about the rest of the planet for a change?

5. Newsweek - Bernie Sanders Says Trump Voters Not Deplorables

I agree, but I also think some folks on the left validate the racists on the right by refusing to acknowledge, if not justifying, the racism of folks on the right. We need to be unafraid to call out Republicans for stoking racism and resentment in order to oppress the white working class, as well as minorities.

https://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-trump-voters-clinton-racist-deplorable-578290

Donald Trump supporters are not racist “deplorables” and Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party are to blame for November’s shock election defeat: So said Clinton’s defeated primary challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders during a rally in Boston Friday night.

* * *
“Some people think the people who voted for Trump are racists, sexist and homophobes, just deplorable folks,” he said. “I don’t agree, because I’ve been there. Let us understand what’s going on.”

Even before losing the primary to Clinton last year, Sanders, an independent, has been a frequent critic of the Democratic Party establishment, claiming that it had become too accommodating of Wall Street and has lost touch with the U.S. working class. It was a theme he returned to during Friday’s sold-out event organized by his “Our Revolution” group.

“When we are competing against a right-wing extremist party who has an agenda that most Americans soundly and roundly disagree with, how in God’s name do they win elections?" he said. "And the reason is, in my view, is that the time is well overdue for fundamental restructuring of the Democratic Party."

The GOP and conservative media brainwashed these pods LONG before the moron came down the escalator. He just took the whip by being more overt in his hate and racism.
