What we might need are walls in limited strategic areas. If he had a proposal for 5 or 6 (or 10 or 12, whatever the number) strategic areas that needed a wall, that could be part of the negotiations. But Democrats have to get some things in return - DACA, TPS, perhaps not just extensions but paths to permanent residence and citizenship .

Trump had no experience in government prior to January 2017 and he doesn't seem inclined to learn. He would rather everyone just let him have his way. This is what you get when a large group of people get the misguided idea that "Government needs to be run more like a business."
