Anticipation is building for special counsel Robert Muellers report, bringing to boil a debate over whether it will also be made public.
The report took center stage at Attorney General nominee Bill Barrs confirmation hearing last week, where Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee pressed him to commit to releasing it publicly.
Its far from clear how close Mueller is to ending his investigation; the former FBI director has shown no signs of concluding his investigation.
At the same time, there is a growing sense in Washington that a probe that has captivated the political world for most of the last two years is wrapping up.
The report is expected to lay out Muellers findings about Russian interference and potential coordination between the Trump campaign and Moscow. It remains unclear what exact shape the report will take or what, if any, conclusions it will draw.

(145 posts)Its a publically funded investigation. Unless there are national secrets involved, and there could be, then it is a public document.

(23,091 posts)He will put out an excerpt leaving out all the actual traitorous & criminal information and say nothing found that is prosecutable for a president. He will fight up to SCOTUS to not comply with subpoenas and to make sure that Mueller can't release the information either.
You know SCOTUS will side with him because they are all in on treason & criminality, 4 absolutely 1 - Rooberts - most likely. Think Roberts is more party than country. but we will see.

(6,535 posts)or if so (and if civilization survives) it will be in like 300 years or something.
I've thought since 2016 that whatever distributed powers that be that represent the "deep state," so to speak--meaning career public servants, people in the intelligence community, and some of the higher-ups in congress (I mean besides the ones who are complicit)--including some members of the outgoing administration, probably--I've thought they have been holding back information (e.g. clear evidence to corroborate basically all the information in the Steele Dossier) and slow rolling this situation, hoping that the nation can make it through this disaster by just "going along to get along" until it's over.
Obviously traitor McConnell's blocking of any public statement prior to the election with regard to the Russian meddling is part of this, but more than that I mean whoever feels that they have the responsibility and capability to keep the nation running from the background (the military, intelligence agencies, etc.) has damning information on the administration that would, if made public, be such a shock to people that it would likely result in riots, etc.
So we have things like the SCO's refutation of the Buzzfeed story...I dunno, I feel like someone or several someones have basically made the call that "you can't handle the truth!"; and though there may be public hearings (although frankly I don't know if it will even get there), the full details of fuckface's crimes will never be revealed in our lifetimes.
But who knows, really....
