Ok, so I'm sitting here trying to get out and my flights have been screwed up all day.
The airlines statement is they only have one runway open due to icing.
Bullpucks.
The precipitation stopped close to 24 hours ago. Even back roads are down to bare pavement. Logan is used to snow and ice. The airport was open most of the day yesterday.
I'm not buying it. They don't have the staff in the tower and they are slowing traffic. Ground holds all over the country.
This is not storm related.....

(14,618 posts)That's not what they are saying. They are saying ice on the runway. But the aprons at the terminal are dry and bare.
Look, they have heaters as wide as the runway they pull. Millions of brush. There isn't any ice left.
Whatever it is, it isn't ice that closed the other runways.

(2,165 posts)My daughter, 22, was supposed to fly home to JFK from SFO on Saturday night but the flight was cancelled. IT ONLY RAINED that night! She is STILL in SF!!
I was told the cancellation was due to snow in other parts of the country, but is this true???

(94,333 posts)Planes are scheduled for multiple flight segments each day. If a disruption occurs, it can effect all subsequent flights.

(94,333 posts)No delays at either end, and JFK is one of the busiest airports in the country. Sometimes weather is just weather.
