I'm getting pretty worried here.

https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2019/01/politics/shutdown-effects/

This link shows the shutdown calendar and the millions and millions of Americans that will be hurt in the worst possible ways - no paychecks, not enough food, losing affordable housing.

I'm so angry that it has come to this. An emotional five-year-old shuts down part of a $4.4 trillion government over $5.7 billion in US taxpayer funding for a wall he said Mexico would pay for.

The coast guard isn't getting paid.

TSA isn't getting paid and 10% of that workforce called in sick yesterday.

This shutdown is a criminal action that to my mind is designed to pull down the US, put us in a state of revolution. Just what Putin wants. It is nothing more or less than TREASON.

I'd like to urge all of you who read this post to:
1. call your US representative
2. call both your US Senators
3. call your governor's office (yeah, I know it is indirect, but it could add pressure on these lizards in the Senate, and NO governor wants chaos in his/her state, which is exactly what we will be seeing).

Because here's the thing - when 40 million Americans don't have enough food next month, air traffic stops, 800,000 federal workers and over a million federal contractors can't fill their tanks, pay their mortgages, buy groceries or even have a life, we will be in a state of revolution.

I mean, this is surreal. It reminds me of Rocko in the Boondock Saints saying, "See you on the flip side!"

Problem is, I think all of us want the 'flip side' to consist of the institutions we count on functioning properly. I sure do.

Last thought: Let's not EVER forget this. When we take power, we must hold these criminals accountable for their treason, crimes against humanity, and utter corruption.

Constitutionally and legally, in order to be branded a traitor, one must have given aid and comfort, i.e., assistance or conspiratorially, to an enemy of the country that we have declared war on, whether in retaliation or preemptively. As we are not at war with Russia, he cannot legally be classified and called a traitor. We never declared war on Saudi Arabia back in the day when OBL used terrorists to take out the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. We, instead, declared a War on Terror that led to all the extreme renditions and cyber warfare (mostly on our own citizens in the case of cyber warfare and other types of intelligence intercepts on everyday Americans). Before that, we engaged in the Cold War, which involved Russia among all the others, but we never had a declared war specifically on Russia.

Now, do I think the bug-eyed turtle is a traitor? You damn bet your ass I do. He ought to taken out back of the U.S. House of Representatives, lined up on the wall there and shot at noon in front of television cameras. I hate this bastard even more than I hate tRump, and I would've thought all but impossible.

Recall when the French citizenry rose up against the Monarchy , which resulted in the overthrowing of Louis XVI and Marie Antionnette, and their ensuing execution. Push people to the brink, and they will eventually take matters into their own hands. Republicans will have to hire their own security because the Secret Service should not have to risk their lives for the cheapskates.

Federal workers should walk off the job and cripple the skies, roadways, etc., until the Government reopens. For Federal workers need more than the charity of others, they NEED Government to open and operate.

I'll tell you a story.

In 1925 in Colorado, the Ku Klux Klan ruled. It was their heyday. My great uncle Percy worked as a grocer in the Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Colorado Springs.

His boss came up to him one day and said, "Either you join the Klan or you're fired."

Percy walked off the job that day.

I'm very proud of him.

My grandfather was a union organizer. I'm also proud of him.

So, yeah, if there's a general strike I will be participating. You know what else? If we ALL do it, no one will lose their job. Dirtbags like the Koch brothers and other billionaire parasites have been busting unions with impunity for decades. The door was opened when Taft-Hartley passed in 1948, making general or sympathy strikes illegal. Then Reagan took it to a whole new level.

This is what happened:

https://www.epi.org/m/?src=&w=608

So, yeah, it's about time workers rose up and took back their share of wealth. If we all put our hands in our pockets, the Wall Street lizards and C-suite people could last maybe a month, but no longer. Can you last a month? I can.

Mon Jan 21, 2019, 04:17 PM

The Senate knows that all federal government employees are explicitly forbidden from striking. We are also required to report for work, without pay, if so ordered. It is written into the employment agreement when hired. Many of us, I work for the IRS, enjoy and like our jobs and are not in a position to quit and find work elsewhere. Due to age or personal situations quitting or being fired would only make our lives worse so we try to hang on and hope for the best when dealing with an immature president and a narcissistic Senate leader.

Our fellow citizens need to step up and shut down all aspects of our country until everyone is back to work and are being paid. We are all in this together and until everyone feels the pain of not receiving needed services from all areas of society will Congress and the Orange Mussolini feel the ramifications of their game play. Truckers need to stop delivering food and goods, pilots need to refuse to fly, teachers stop teaching, don’t just shut down the government, shutdown the country. Panic would race through the White House like receiving a Mueller subpoena if Cheeto Man couldn’t get his Big Macs. Just a suggestion.

PS - I failed to mention IRS employees are also forbidden from getting part time jobs to tide them over until they go back to work. All part time jobs are required to be approved by their supervisor before applying. They want to make sure there is no conflict of interest and especially no filing of taxes for pay.

Mon Jan 21, 2019, 04:29 PM

I talked to my former sister-in-law today who lives in the DC/VA area. She and her husband are both furloughed without pay. She's a federal employee in the CalFresh program, he's a federal contractor and won't be paid even after the shutdown ends probably.

They are canceling services they normally used, costing businesses money. They cancelled a house cleaning service, for instance.

Their daughter is a professional dog walker. Her business is down because federal workers off work aren't hiring them.

Some furloughed workers are looking for part-time jobs, which further puts pressure on others who are looking for work as their opportunities lessen.

The only ones benefitting are school kids because a lot of very smart federal workers in the DC area are taking jobs as substitute teachers.

But of course once education funding runs out, that will negatively impact the kids, too.

Text RESIST to 50409 and you can sign up (for free) to text your Senators, your Congressional Rep and/or your Governor. I think it's sent as an email. It will send to them no matter if they're Democrat, Republican or Indy.

let your voices be heard that you don't negotiate with terrorists

Shutter government.

Sow chaos in the land.

Crash the economy with taxes and tariffs.

Halt commerce and trade.

Empty out the government employees.

Appoint stooges and incompetents to executive and cabinet positions.

All to weaken America and the Western Alliance.

Wake up! Wake up!

Fascism/autocratic rule nearly here!

This isn't really about a damn wall. It's all just an excuse to sow chaos, to "weaken America and the Western Alliance."

re-opens.

We need a general strike to support the 800,000 and all the other collateral victims. The bastard living in our WH won't do it, he will never accept defeat until he is forced to. We can force him. We can all strike and be present in the streets to support the victims of this insane shutdown and presidency.

We each has an obligation to do this. We owe it to each other and our country.

We have an obligation.

The TSA folks got us through security. The Air Traffic Controllers safely guided our 737 to Denver. I trust that Customs will be on hand to welcome us home next week.

To put these folks through the stress that they are incurring is un-conscionable!

If this is "MAKING AMERICA GREAT", I want to sign up for a different plan!

Love the fact that the FBI is crying about lack of pay absolutely love it maybe next time they won't guarantee a fucking asshole gets elected. 100% behind Nancy Pelosi. Hate the fact that their finances are being negatively impacted so they have to report themselves as security risks subject to blackmail by China Russia xcetera but love the fact that they can only blame the man they got elected.
