Rudy Giuliani tells CNN that Trump’s legal team reached out to the special counsel Robert Mueller’s office regarding the BuzzFeed article Friday morning. Giuliani would not offer further detail about what they said to Mueller’s office. @PamelaBrownCNN

When Trump is involved, "reached out" means whine and threaten. Doodley Jan 2019 #1

If true, Mueller can't be trusted anymore, imo. n/t Blaukraut Jan 2019 #3
While I wouldn't put a lot of faith in any of Giuliani's statements as he's always happy to muddy.. Princess Turandot Jan 2019 #4

Maybe he wants it to appear like he and Trump got Mueller to break the long-standing silence from SCO.

A demonstration of their *power*.

Or, maybe it's true, and he wants to take the credit.

the waters, Trump's legal team calling the special counsel in these circumstances would have been them doing their job. A newspaper article asserts a very serious charge about their client, making such a charge public for the first time, and then attributes the information to the special counsel's office. Assuming that they were unaware that this was coming, why would anyone be surprised that they called the prosecutors to find out what was going on?
