I live in Atlanta and I see a crisis on the horizon

The Super Bowl will take place in two weeks.

This shutdown will impact one of the busiest sports events of the year.

Both senators here are Republicans. Johnny Isakson even tried to nudge TSA into going on strike.

This looks like one big, giant fiasco in the making.

workers were on mandatory work status. Hint, you don't show, well your part time status is now unemployed status. This is most likely happening at every Airport.

Keep it brief & to the point & be nice, but call them. Don't forget to leave your name & zip code.

Georgia Senators Contact Info

If you are lucky to have a repub senator who is speaking out against the shutdown, mention their name & that you hope that reasonable republicans will join forces to get our government open again! For instance, when I call McConnell & others, I tell them that my senator, Cory Gardner (R-CO), has said that we need to get the government open again & then negotiate border security. Your message carries a tad more weight when you throw another GOP name around.

I work the weekend shift. 7a-7p at a hospital. Traffic is going to be a nightmare. I work the detox unit. I expect to see an increase in admissions with more parties in town. Thats usually the case when there is a major event in town. More booze and drugs flowing. I will probably pull double shifts because we will be busy and short staffed. Nature of not having enough staff in mental health anyway.

About 1 month or less to go until hell breaks loose.

If people can’t eat, they will truly lose it.

Not with fuck head’s favorite team playing. I’ll probably do the same thing I did last year and go for a nice long evening drive.

to protect against terrorist attacks or organized crime. The Superbowl would be at risk if they were short staffed due to people quitting because they can't pay the bills.

is a smaller percentage. If the Superbowl had been in say Green Bay, Kansas City, Jacksonville, or some other place with airports that aren't as busy the increase in traffic could be 100% or more.

Some of them are reported working at a part-time job just to keep the rent paid.

Fatigued, over worked, worried air traffic controllers ...a disaster in the making.
