It's the Lack of Shame

So, Republicans, here’s where we’re at.

Your “pResident” is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice, amid a myriad of other crimes – including being a traitor. (Russian asset is far too kind a label.)

Your “pResident” does nothing but tweet and watch TV. His only agenda is deflecting attention away from the facts being revealed about him, salving his own ego, and advancing his own financial interests. His absence from national events has been noted. It began right after the midterms, when he refused to attend ceremonies for fallen soldiers in France and later at Arlington. It is obvious that he will not be performing any traditional presidential duties from now on, except those he sees as self-serving.

Your “pResident” has lied – and lied, and lied again to the American people. He has no empathy and no morals. He has been identified as an unindicted co-conspirator in court. His “charitable foundation” was found to be so rife with corruption, it was dissolved.

Your “pResident” has caused immeasurable damage to the country. He is acknowledged as a buffoon by world leaders. He sides with our enemies, and insults our allies. He has appointed the most incompetent people to his cabinet, and other positions of power that impact everything from our system of education to our environmental survival.

Your “pResident” has inflicted untold misery on the very people who elected him – and now furthers that agenda by putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work (and/or a paycheque) in what can only be described as a toddler-like tantrum.

Given all of the above (and much, much more), the most galling thing about your “pResident’s” disastrous mis-administration is the fact that your party has a complete lack of shame about any of it.

Your spokes-people – straight-faced rather than the more appropriate red-faced – keep telling those of us who know the emperor has no clothes that his wardrobe is the envy of the world, and even extol the hand-stitching and fine details that only they can see.

Your pundits show up on the TV, day after day, explaining to the viewing audience that your “pResident” didn’t say what he said on the video they just watched. And they do it without any shame.

Maybe this is what happens when a political party decides to just let the country slide downhill while they pile up their personal fortunes. Maybe this is how people, who once considered themselves honourable, dishonour themselves without any sense of humiliation in doing so. Maybe this is what the blackmailed do when their extortionist demands a smiling face, without the trace of a blush, while delivering the latest bit of propaganda you’ve been commanded to spew.

Our nation is in distress – and it isn’t just Nero fiddlin’ here as Rome burns – it’s the entire Republican party. And the fact that that doesn’t embarrass you says all that need be said.

And that isn't the half of it! They have the gall to make it priority one to divide people, not bring them together. Whatever happened to that presidential character issue? When did we lose that?

No, instead we have this steamroller of an idiot in the white house eating cheeseburgers from Sun-up to Sun-down, without a care in the world to do anything positive for the world around him, except to watch TV for eight hours, before waddling out for a couple minutes of trash talking someone who is trying to make a difference.

It's everything you just wrote times ten.

Thank you!

And I believe that in Star Trek terminology, his lackeys would be called "thralls." They have less individual will power than Tribbles.

They have invested in and are funded by protecting Russian money donations to their campaigns.

Your diaries are much appreciated.
