We manufacture ladies garments. Shipping containers are being held up, so we can't get product in. We're having issues in our Distribution center which will shortly start to spill over into Production.
If it's not hurting you or your business yet, just wait a few more days for the trickle effect to make itself plainly known.

(45,446 posts)Luckily, the Federal govt is only one of many types of clients for us.
Here in DC, the DC metro is losing $400K per day and restaurants only have a fraction of the customers than before the shutdown.

(67,761 posts)Lots of federal clients but, fortunately, lots of non federal clients, too. Our work on federal contracts has slowed to a crawl since there is no one at the client organizations working.
We had hoped to hire another person but that's on hold for now.

Plus large businesses seem to have stopped paying their invoices. Not a single payment to us from anyone since the shutdown. We have experienced complete suspension of A/R in the past: during Gulf War I & II, after 9/11, and late 2008. I am sure this is now becoming widespread.
Cash Flow becomes a big problem when it quits flowing.
