Can anyone doubt that that's Trump's attitude towards humanity is "fuck everybody but me?"
Thousands of children have been kidnapped from their families at the Mexican border. Who knows how many of those children and parents will ever see each other again? This is a tragedy that can't help but bring tears to any decent human being. Trump's attitude? -- "Fuck 'em."
Horrors in various places in the world need the president of the United States to denounce what's taking place in their countries. Condemnation by an America president tends to slow down or stop injustice or torture in many places. They fear that American aid will be cut off. Trump's attitude? -- "Fuck 'em."
And here at home. The government has 800,000 employees on furlough. Some are forced to work without pay. Others are not. They're not being paid. What are they going to do about paying their debts? How are they going to pay for their mortgages? How are they going to pay water and electric bills? How are they going to buy gasoline to fill they're cars and get to work? How are they going to pay for food at the supermarket? How are they going to pay medical bills? Or, to sum it up, how are they going to survive if this goes on much longer?
Trump's answer to those 800,000 thousand people? "Fuck 'em."
Next month, Food stamps will stop because of the government closure. Countless people will be unable to buy food.
Trump's answer: "Fuck 'em." (And I suppose that means, "Fuck 'em. Let them starve.)
Stupidity is part of the answer as to what drives this "president." But the larger answer is he is a mean spirited, cruel, human specimen who is clueless about the pain, suffering, or existence of anyone but himself.
There's a word for this man's indifference to humanity. That word is EVIL.
