17. He clearly doesn't see the purpose and intent of the SOTU

It's all one big MAGA rally to him.

But, on the plus side (for Trump) he can't lead the assembled crowd in the House in a chant of "lock her up."

The speech has already been delivered (his "let's make a deal" teleprompter extravaganza). So I am assuming that if he does deliver it at a "MAGA" rally, he'll regurgitate the same speech, and then do his favorite thing...go off script.

The plus side for the rest of us is that if he holds a "MAGA" rally and calls it a SOTU address, the networks most likely will not run it in its entirety. At least I'd hope not.

Unless Trump is planning to give the SOTU in the (much smaller) Senate chambers, the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms has zero authority to give a walk-through of the House. Nancy Pelosi has authority over the House Sergeant-at-Arms, who is the person who can authorize a walk-through for the SOTU.

Trump doesn't know this, or thinks he can overrule Pelosi. This is what happens when he doesn't have a competent staff to tell him stuff like this. Of course there's always the possibility that they did tell him and he didn't listen.
