and kids have so much energy it is exhausting. I would take my class out every hour and a half for a "bathroom break" so we could all use the bathroom at once (fewer kids coming and going during lessons) and they ran laps around the playground for 10 min. It helped them to sit still until the next bathroom break. It worked! There were fewer interruptions and they focused on lessons better.

I can hardly believe it. Why build playgrounds if they never get to use them?

anymore, whether it is on playground equipment (that is if we had anything other than two jungle-gyms for 500 kids at a time and a few jump ropes and balls) or team/group games. They almost have to be forced to move around a little.
