Nancy Pelosi will be president and I can tell you exactly why.

Years ago at a Jefferson Jackson dinner, I met her and we posed for a picture. The friend who took the picture had it developed and then immediately lost it. And I know darn well that this practically guarantees that some strange whim of Karma will land her in the Oval Office, first woman president, and I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to convince my grand kids that there actually was a picture!!!

I would be happy to have Nancy Pelosi as President, but it might not be that easy. You should think back to Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Ford was neither the Vice President, or the Speaker of the House. Unless Trump and Pence are impeached at the same time there is a chance that Pelosi will not become President. If things get to hot the Republican Party, even though they are supposedly completely scared of Trump, could push for Trump to resign so that Pence can become President and nominate a new Vice President. I believe that is similar to how we got Gerald Ford. I think the Vice President resigned and Ford was nominated and confirmed by the Senate. Then Nixon resigned and Ford was sworn is as President.

Republicans still control the Senate, so they will likely have the votes to get anyone, but the worse Republican confirmed as Vice President. If I were a Republican I would likely already be pushing for Donald Trump, or even Mike Pence to resign. At that point I would push for the nomination for someone like Paul Ryan, or a common sense Republican female and then force the Democrats to choose between voting to allow a Republican to become the first female President, or voting against a woman.

So, hopefully you turn out to be right. However, I do not see how it will work out how you claim.

That’s how it works in my little fantasy world.

Hey, if Rumplethinskin can ignore facts, so can I.

During that year's primary I wrote him a letter saying that I admired him completely, but that the most important thing was to *BEAT NIXON* and that I hoped he would withdraw and let somebody else with a better chance to take the nomination.

I got a short, typed letter (I'm sure from surrogates) saying that he appreciated my admiration, that he thought he had a good chance to beat NIXON, and that he hoped I would support him.

I was correct. Plus that he should have played up what a military war hero he was instead of hiding it. And I lost the letter, which is a long lasting regret.
