"Thirty Days in the Hole." Which was a little but shy of how long this insane shut down went.

But my favorite was always "I Don't Need No Doctor."

Remember them, Glam ?

Their shows were awesome !! Oh, the jams . . . kickin'.

Floating somewhere in the ether of the internet is their '71 performance at the Fillmore. It never gets old.

If you like The Pie, I have another old band you might be interested in checking out. One of my FAVES of all time is Grand Funk Railroad (1969-1974), from Flint, Michigan. Forget "We're An American Band," and listen to "Heartbreaker" or "Time Machine" or "Mean Mistreater." GREAT jams. They also do a mean cover of "Gimme Shelter."

In concert, these guys turned almost everything into a jam. Not the mindless, noodling up-and-down-the-fretboard kind of stuff, but truly inspired blues. For three guys, they packed a powerful amount of sound.

Always happy to pass good music along. You turned me on to Steepwater, so I wanted to shine a light on one of my all time favorite bands from the past. Glad you enjoyed it.

All I have is a Grand Funk greatest hits album. Any suggestions on studio albums from these guys?

I'll need to do a little research.

Cuz I'll have to listen to them all, of course, to determine quality, you understand.

But no job is to big for a friend. It may break me to have to endure hours of intense listening to all that fine musicianship, but it's a task I'm willing to undertake. Just for you.
