The others you mentioned - they do not get lost wages and income.
Yes, I support and appreciate the sacrifice the federal workers made during this, but please don't forget the others (I'm betting MORE than the 800,000 federal workers) that went without pay and will not have any chance to make-up lost income.

He's a bastard and needs to be gone - along with the entire Repug regime that supported him!!!!!!!

Have you checked your 401(k), IRA or other savings accounts lately?

Yes, I know: many (most?) Americans can scarcely afford to set aside a few dollars each paycheck for retirement.
Or an emergency (“tell your boss to ‘go to hell!” and have something to live off of for 3 months) fund.
Or an “oh shit!” (the car or house needs $,$$$ worth of repairs) fund.
Or even a “fuck this!” (Someone near and dear needs medical care, but the health insurance policy that your oh-so-generous employer provides carries a massive deductible) fund.

Or, if you’re like me — and I know I am — you’ve scrimped and save your entire working life to reach the point where you could comfortably retire, only to see decades of savings drastically reduced because little donnie wants his wall and threw a major tantrum, shutting down the government, just at the same time you were planning to start drawing on the IRA, 401(k), annuity and/or other safety net.

I used to joke about supplementing my Social Security benefits by pushing a (borrowed) shopping cart down streets and alleys, collecting recyclable metals. That’s no longer a laughable prospect.

The ripple effect of his tantrum extends throughout our economy. Check your situation: you may not be so far from those most directly impacted by Putin’s putz.
