It was really something having a kid my age in the Whitehouse...When her Dad died, I was very young but I still remember, the teacher told us he had been shot.. I prayed so hard. Later she left the room and came back and said he had passed away. So sad! I was in first grade and I will never forget!!!

There were probably framed pictures of John XXIII and JFK in at least one room of his boyhood home.
