$16,058,080. Not bad for one year (2011). $13,751,115 the year before. Who makes this money?

Jay L. Johnson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Dynamics.

Now, why should you give a fuck? Because General Dynamics, a company that had revenues of $32.677 BILLION in 2011, makes 1, PRECISELY ONE product that you and I can buy without a DOD purchase order.

Gulfstream Jets.

Now I don't know when that last time you placed an order for a nice, shiny new G500 (price? about $42,000,000) but it has been a while since I bought one!

Now, why is this important? Why should you give a fuck? Why do I give a fuck?

Because virtually ALL of Mr. Johnson's salary comes as a result of money General Dynamics makes from Department of Defense contracts. In simpler terms, TAX DOLLARS.

Jay Johnson made over sixteen million dollars last year and it was ALL PAID BY US.

So the next time you hear some dickhead Republican complain (like I did last night in a restaurant) that they hate the idea that there might be someone somewhere taking a welfare check, just remind them that this one guy, who BTW works for merely the 4th largest DOD contractor, makes that kind of money and you NEVER hear that dickhead republican complain about that.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. Johnson holds 1,930,620 shares of General Dynamics Common Stock or equivalents. GD shares were up $1.94 today. Jays net worth went up by $3,745,402.80. Just today. And FWIW, 1,930,620 shares of GD at today's closing price of $66.72 a share equals $128,810,966.40 Can't forget the forty cents.

Now. Complain about welfare, you douchebag.

Here's where I got the info;

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "2011 Proxy Statement". It will open a .pdf document. Executive compensation begins on page 37 and the salary figures for the top executives is on page 38.

The "defense" budget is obscene.

This kind of income is corruption, nothing more.
