Does Mittens have an end game?

I appreciate his call for witnesses in the impeachment trial but I don't trust him any further than I could throw him. Memories of his nasty campaign against President Obama in 2012 are too fresh in my memory. Remember he was the candidate who advocated self-deportation for undocumented immigrants. He is no friend of ours.

So what is going on? Well, here is my theory. As we know, once someone is bitten by the presidential bug they very seldom ever get over it. I think that he is hoping the witnesses would bring out so much dirt on Trump that it would be enough to get twenty Republican senators to vote to convict him and also deny him the right to run in the 2020 election. And since Pence has his fingerprints all over this whole sorry affair the Republicans would be forced to turn to someone else to carry their standard in 2020. And just who would be waiting in the wings to take up that banner? Well Mittens of course.

I know this might seem far fetched, but in these crazy times we are living in I could believe almost anything.
