They aren’t making a principled stand that the president can do whatever he wants. They are defending a republican president because of tribalism.

They imagine they can constrain Trump after they remove all constraints.

They will rediscover that presidents aren’t kings if and when there is the next democracy president.

Republicans are hypocrits.
