They have painted a vivid awful picture of court case after court case for every subpoena, if any are authorized. I can imagine Dems throwing up their hands in defeat at that threat.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see why. Do you? Any hope?

Extended trial won't go on for hours daily if drawn out. There will be plenty of time while the protests and appeals are worked out for campaigning.
The steady drip of testimony will wear on Trump and likely elevate his madness.

Republicans defending this wretched man will pay at the ballot box when voters demand accountability. Voting has never become so important than in the times we are living in now.
